Specification

Chromatic 2k acrylic enamel paint is a two-component acrylic resin-based coating mixed with isocyanate hardener. It is characterized by high gloss, high abrasion and chemical resistance, high gloss retention, quick drying and flexibility. It has been specially formulated to withstand exposure to the tropical climate, and is virtually scratchproof. It is also a lowbake system that can be force dried to reduce processing times. It is used in cases where a high quality finish is required, on Suitably primed or previously painted mild steel, galvanized iron, aluminium, fiberglass and wood and is ideal for re-coating and repairing of commercial and passenger vehicles providing a superior appearance and exterior.

APPLICATION: The product can be applied by conventional spray gun or brush, dip coating and roller coating. Being a high build product three coats are sufficient to give a high gloss finish. Sanding in between coats is recommended
MIXING RATIO: 4 parts Base: 1 part Hardener: 1 part Thinner (by volume)
MIXING: This product is highly susceptible to moisture and should be mixed/stored in dry, non humid conditions. After mixing base, hardener and thinner in the correct ratio, allow to stand for 5-7 minutes for bubbles/effervescence to subside, before use. Hardener contains isocyanate – ensure adequate ventilation and good booth extraction when spraying and put on respirator
EQUIPMENT CLEANING: Chromatic 2K Acrylic Thinner
DRYING TIME: Surface Temperature 15 – 25oC, Touch Dry 1 hour, Hard Dry 6 hours, Over coating/Repair Time 6 hours, Pot life 8 hours.

Surface Temperature 26 – 30oC, Touch dry ¾hour, Hard Dry 4 -5 hours, Over coating/Repair Time 5 hours, Pot life 6 hours.

Surface Temperature 31 – 35oC, Touch Dry ½hour, Hard Dry 3 hours, Over coating/Repair Time 4 hours, Pot life 4 hours.

SPREADING CAPACITY: Depends on film thickness applied, primer porosity, imperfections, temperature & wastage during painting. 8 – 10 m²/l per coat. Maximum spread rate per coat is obtained at minimum dry film thickness and vice versa.
COLOUR RANGE: A range of solid colours, toners & metallic silver plus clear.
PACK SIZES: 1 litre and 4 litres Base
SOLIDS: 60%-62% (by weight).
SUPPLY VISCOSITY: 45-50 seconds B4 Cup @25ºC
DRY FILM THICKNESS: 40-45 μm
HARDNESS: Minimum 4H (after 24 hours).
GLOSS: Minimum 94% @ 20o angle
FLEXIBILITY Passes Conical Mandrel (7mm) after 24 hours.
